Hi. I’m Mark Helm. I’m a commercial real estate agent who began specializing in self-storage in the mid 1990’s. By 2000, I had purchased my first self-storage project and since then I’ve had many ups and downs in both real estate and self-storage in specifically. I’ve made almost every mistake that can be made, and yet through the mistakes, I have developed a system of analyzing and acquiring self-storage that has a proven track record. As every entrepreneur discovers, just knowing something does not make the difference. To be truly successful in any endeavor, or in life itself, one must confront the thing inside them that holds them back. It is a continual process of breaking oneself up and reforming in such a manner that what was not possible before, is possible now. The struggles I have faced as I started to grow my self-storage portfolio are all addressed in my book “Creating Wealth Through Self Storage.” My personal goal is to build a $60,000,000 self-storage portfolio and I’m fast approaching it. For me to achieve this goal, a system had to be developed. Through many trials and tribulations, I’ve built a system that I present in my book, on this blog, in my courses in QuickStart Academy and in my online financial analysis tool The Storage World Analyzer. My real estate career has had the following highlights:

I’ve been married to my wife Rebecca for 25 years, I have three children and four grandchildren. I also also plays guitar in the Bluegrass band BlueZenGrass.
