This is our last week in the True Wealth With Self Storage Series.

So far you’ve created a new and powerful paradigm for yourself and you life.

You completed a disempowering story about your relationship to money and success. You replaced it with a new, empowering story for yourself.

And now you look out into the world and what do you see?

Not the future you’ve spent the last few weeks creating on paper and in your mind.

You see little to no evidence that what you created is real, and the world begins to reflect back all the old stuff you are familiar with.

First, that is normal. Second, that can change.

The moment we create a new possibility for ourselves, a new vision, what becomes very apparent is the gap.

The gap is the space between what is true now and our vision for ourselves and our lives.

Again, that is normal, and it will change…IF you create a new practice for yourself.

This is the science and art of keeping alive for yourself what you have created. I say science because there is a process created by others that have gone before us that can be duplicated. This is not something I created. I learned this.

I call it art because it is a subtle difference in thinking, one that has to be practiced and developed.

Did you get that? A difference in thinking. I have often said many of us have a weak relationship to language. We have even a weaker relationship to thinking.

It’s not all our fault. We are never taught how to think. Do you block off time to think? I mean critically think? Probably not.

Try it. It will do more for your business than almost any practice you can develop.

But back to the subject at hand. Most of us think because we have thoughts continuously spinning around in our head, we are always thinking. That is true, but most of those thoughts are the same habitual thoughts you’ve had millions of times, over and over.

Most of us look into the world to calculate “What is so” about a particular subject. This is great if you are getting statistics, numbers, etc. but is is the death nail for what you created for yourself and your life in a new empowering relationship to money and success.

The hardest work you will ever do is to to be informed by your vision, what you created, as opposed to what you see in the world.

It takes no mental power to look into your bank account and see there is not much money there.

It takes a lot of mental discipline to look into your bank account, see there is not much money there, and then still be true to yourself what what you have created for yourself and your life. The hardest work you will ever do is to be informed by your vision, not appearances.

This is what all people who have altered a disempowering relationship to success have found out.

Don’t judge yourself and your life by the current circumstances.

It takes no mental power to not do that. It takes a lot of mental discipline to be informed how you are doing, what is so, by your vision.

I am not talking about positive thinking. It takes no mental discipline to say happy things.

And I don’t mean live in delusion. I’m not saying to pretend there is money when there isn’t. If you have a bill to pay, scramble and pay it.

But, in the past, that reinforced your negative story about yourself and your relationship to money and success.

After you’ve created a new story, its going to take all your mental discipline to keep that alive, and not judge your life by your circumstances.

Who was it that said, “Don’t judge the world by appearances?”

In the book Think and Grow Rich, I learned from Napoleon Hill that this is the hardest mental work one can do. To get who you are from what you create, not from what the world tells you.

But here is the good news. After a short time, shorter than you think, the world will start reflecting back the new story you have created.

Why?

Because you have closed the gap. If your actions are dictated by a new empowering relationship to success, regardless of what the world tells you, then those actions start bringing success to you.

And it’s an upward spiral.

Your actions began to create new success, the world reflects it. Now have not only what you have created as what informs you, but you also have the world beginning to reflect it as well.

It does happen, but it takes time and a lot of mental discipline.

But I know you can do it. You are smart enough to get what self storage really is. You know it is the absolute best investment for the smaller investor.

So I am creating that you have to power to use the art and science of keeping alive your new possibility for your life and your relationship to success and money.

Then your self storage business has the greatest chance of success. It will be an outward demonstration of what you have created for yourself.

Next week we are going to discuss where are we in the self storage industry cycle.
